"Sessions with Chris are like working with a really good financial adviser or designer....a few minor changes and life is better. Chris is insightful, patient and smart. My body looks and feels better and I am way stronger because of his coaching."
“I have had Chris as a coach for the last 5 months and it has made a huge difference in my training. He is patient and clear about what he’s trying to teach and listens to what your goals are, then maps out a way for you to get there. I have made more gains in the 5 months with Chris than I ever had on my own. He changed my nutrition and I have lost 32 pounds since January. My best squat prior to his coaching was 305×3. I just did 330x5x3 yesterday. My best bench was 200×5 and I have done 225x5x2. We really had to break my deadlift down because my form was horrible, but I am progressing in it as well. He’s got the knowledge to do whatever it is you want to accomplish. The first time we talked, his first question was “What are your goals?” and then he mapped out a way for me to get there.”
“Hire him if you want to get where you want to go!”
I have really liked the change to my old program to the one you gave me. The decreased volume has really let me improve in all the lifts, and the added rest has been beneficial. I am seeing some good results with my strength numbers. I’m progressing nicely with the weighted pull-ups/chin-ups. Also I have to say that your recommendations for supplements was awesome as well, just picked up the fish oil and plan on using dymatize protein when I run out of my current supply. So overall I have to say that I am thoroughly pleased with my experience and would and have recommended it to others. So I have to say thank you again for your help it has been very helpful.
Received a consultation a week ago. I am very satisfied with the experience so far. I’ve always done generic programs designed for the masses (SS, 5/3/1, CrossFit). Nothing against those, but I’m really looking forward to getting into some training tailored to my life and goals. I just got the one time consultation, but I’m already planning on getting another one down the road (6 months or so) to re-evaluate where I am and where I’m going. I highly recommend it.
“Started working with Chris about two months ago and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I Met him through school and have always enjoyed learning from him because he obviously knows what works. With the consultation, he gives detailed instructions about nutrition, mobility, and breaks down the program. A program log is easily shared between us via Google so I can fill it out and he can keep up with my progress and make tweaks as we go. I believe he will be able to take me to the next level given time.”
Things are going really well, Chris. On Monday did all of my heavy snatch singles at a very solid 150 - this used to be a 1 out of 5 weight for me just a few weeks ago. C&J is going the same way, PR'd at 230 a couple weeks ago and am regularly hitting weights that used to be 50/50 for odds of making them. Both of those lifts hadn't moved in probably six months or more. Adding in the complexes for conditioning has been a lot of fun as well.
One of the best things is that I seem to finish each session pretty energized and actually wanting to do more.
I'm an experienced CrossFit coach and a long time serious weight trainee, so when I decided to get outside help I knew I wanted a coach who: 1) is strong, 2) trains with other strong people, 3) has successfully trained other athletes to be strong, and 4) has a straightforward no gimmick approach to serious training. That perfectly describes Chris Riley, so I had no qualms about hiring him. After only a few months with Chris, my competition maxes improved from a 440 squat to 463, a 270 bench to 286, and best of all my conventional dead lift which I had given up on shot up from 385 to 430 after some technical corrections. These were not gym lifts but actual lifts in a sanctioned meet. I called my own attempts and blew it; 463 moved so fast I took a 485 third and just missed, and I didn't have enough experience to know where my top dead was. 430 shot off the floor so I know more is coming soon. Finally I should mention this has happened at 48 years of age. I can only fantasize about the gains I might have made if I could have worked with Chris ten or twenty years ago!
“I recently completed 3 months online coaching with Chris Riley. Having never used coaching of any sort before, i wasn’t sure i had made the correct decision, however, the experience and results have proven otherwise for me. The coaching was fantastic, the monthly conversations were laid back, accurate and in depth enough for me to understand what my program will consist of. Followed by an emailed consultation recap, which is a rather nice addition. The lifts i wished to focused on were the Squat, Bench and Deadlift, for powerlifting. Numbers in the beginning and after 3 months were Squat 140kg(310 pounds) - 165kg(363 pounds) Bench Press 105kg (231 pounds) - 117.5kg (260 pounds) and Deadlift 190kg (418 pounds) - 240kg (530 pounds). Safe to say, i was very happy with these results. I am very confident that online coaching with Chris through Dallas Strength and Conditioning is an absolutely worthwhile investment."
"I have been working with Chris for the past 7 months. When I started powerlifting, I could not do a single bodyweight squat. Now, I am squatting more than my bodyweight. I still have a long way to go, but I am hopeful that I can reach my potential with Chris's continued help. He is one of the smartest people that I know. I have seen him work well with individuals of all age ranges, fitness levels, and body types to get them in the best shape possible. I highly recommend DSC to anyone and everyone!"
