I started my session at 345pm. I performed the absolute best I could in the snatch that day, with a conservative snatch opener at 95kg (210lbs), then proceeding to 102kg (224lbs) and finishing at 107kg (235lbs). In the clean and jerk, I put 120kg (264lbs) away, but failed my next two attempts at 127kg (280lbs). I am pretty happy with my decisions and performance in the snatch, and feel that just having been at the venue all day piled on some fatigue that made heavier clean and jerks tougher to handle. I plan on getting my base level of leg and back strength up to reduce how much the clean and jerk will be affected from fatigue.
Overall, everyone showed a lot of heart and resolve. This competition was a challenge both in conditions as well as tests of will, and everyone made good lifts in response to that challenge. DSC weightlifting will be competing again soon around April and May, and we'll be ready to push ourselves a little farther. Great job guys!
